13 January 1882 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 13th January [1882]. Busy morng writing &c. Lunched at 1 & Bee & Monty Eliot lunched with us. Henry took them after to British Museum to get their coins named. I went out in carriage. Called on Miss Thompson found her in & saw her studio & what she is painting. It seemed to me that she was not much improved– She has a charming studio wh she uses also as a bedroom– I went on to Queen Anne St & fetched Blanche plants & my sewing machine. Deposited them at home & went on to see Connie for the first time since her illness. Found her very well considering. Sat 2 hours with her & went home by 6. Arthur came in to call & stayed to dinner. He brought his dog Duster with him—a dandy dinmont who is his constant companion. Henry & I played cribbage & Arthur advised me. Bed at 11.
