28 January 1882 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 28th January [1882]. I made Henry cigarettes & finished a sofa cover. Sent Kitty out in the brougham. After lunch Arthur came in & brought Mildred with him & then he took Kitty & Monty off to see Watts’ pictures—so we took leave as Kitty & M. return to Holdenby today. Sir G. Bowen came to call– At ¼ to 4 Henry & I drove to Victoria Stn & went down to the Rates. Got there abt 5. Had tea & then rested a little. I had a headache & was quite upset. However I soon returned to the drawing room & went down to dinner getting thro’ the evening all right. Miss Tait was there when we arrived but left before dinner. Mr Sitwell was staying there—a nice looking young man—no one else.
