29 January 1882 — Milton Court, nr. Dorking, Surrey | |
Sunday. 29th January [1882]. Breakfast 9.30. Drove with Alice to church at Dorking. Archdeacon Atkinson preached text “What is that in thine hand” showing that our duty is always at hand. We drove home & walked in the garden till a shower drove us in– I wrote letters. Lunch at 2– Sat talking in afternoon & trying over hymns &c. Tea at 5. Read & talked. Supper abt 9– Mrs Rate sang in the evening. | |
