Tuesday. 7th February [1882]. My knee pained me a good deal so I laid on the sofa & wrote letters. I drove out in the afternoon– Went to S. Hambro & went in to see her without going up stairs– Left a lot of cards; went & bought a little present for Emilia Riaño & sent it to Señor Gayangos who starts for Madrid tomorrow. Came home at 5. We dined alone & played cribbage in eveng. Today Parliament opened. | |
