10 March 1882 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 10th March [1882]. Got up latish being very tired after last night’s dissipation. Gus left us & returned to Holdenby having made all his preparations to start for Manitoba on 6th next month. I went out at 1 in the brougham—first to the Mother to give her a message & then on to Lady Stanhope’s where I lunched. I was glad to have a talk with Evy—unfortunately her step sister Mrs Monty Hankey was also there but after lunch Ld Stanhope talked to the latter & we were more free to talk. I went on to Mrs Burr’s & found her at home—thence to Ella Drake who expected me. She told me that Sir Wm Drake had been better of his eczema when a friend advised him to rub himself with sanitas oil wh he did & blistered him self from head to foot & was in bed again. I went home by 5—very tired & rested on the sofa. Mama came to talk to Henry abt reorganising the Turkish Women Working Fund. We dined at home & Monty coming in from the house just at that moment he dined with us & then returned to the house. Henry & I played cribbage.
