2 April 1882 — 3 Savile Row
Sunday. 2nd April [1882]. I did not feel well eno’ to go to church. Arranged a few books for Henry– At 12 we had our brougham & drove down to Roehampton– We got there before Maria & Co had returned from church—so we walked about the garden. The trees were all more or less out & everything was green. The season is quite six weeks earlier than usual. The Du Cane family returned from church and we had lunch. After that meal I sat & talked with Maria while Richard & Henry walked in the garden– Abt 4 we walked to Dover House to see Mr Morgan accompanied by Ruth Nela Daisy & the twins. Mr Morgan was at home & showed us over his house & gardens & gran houses & then we took leave of him & walked home. Alice went down to church & brought Temmie back with her to tea– A Mr Heathcote called, Sir Collingwood & Lady Dickson came down from London & Mama & Mr S. We had a very pleasant evening. Sir Edmund & Miss Du Cane, Mr Wylde & Mr Morgan dined with Maria. Sir Collingwood took me to dinner & I sat next Mr Schreiber. As Ola dined we were 14 at table. In the eveng Miss May Du Cane & Ola played the piano– The Dicksons & Mama & S returned to London & Mr Wylde, Morgan & the Du Canes returned to their homes.
