23 May 1882 — 3 Savile Row
Tuesday. 23rd [May 1882]. Henry & Morelli went off early to breakfast with Lord Aberdare. I breakfasted alone & then went down & packed & arranged things for our departure. Florence Layard called—then Annie Murray & then Temmy. I went out with her to the Burlington Arcade to buy gloves. Morelli & Sir Wm Gregory & Monty came in to luncheon. After lunch Kembles & I walked to the B. Arcade to change my gloves wh were too small & then she walked to Lang. Hse & I & Henry walked to Dulan in Soho Sqr to enquire abt his copy of the book on St Mark’s wh he was to receive from Ongania at Venice. We walked on to Regent St where H. & I parted he to the Atheneum I to Lang. Hse. Found Temmy there—Mama took us in her carriage to Savile Row & Alice Du Cane went with us. We had tea. Monty dined with us. Henry & I played cribbage in the eveng. Monty went out early to see the experiments of Electric light in the city.
