22 June 1882 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Thursday. 22nd [June 1882]. Monty, Bertie & I had a hard morning’s work hanging up the grass mattings round the drawing room walls. It was a piping hot day & still scirocco. This took us nearly till 3. I then cut out snowflake curtains & sewed till 7 when we dined. Bertie & I went sea fishing & caught 7 whiting. Coming home we nearly had the boat upset as our boy took us the wrong side of the river close under the torrent. Bertie helped to pull. Supper at 10.30. Cribbage in the porch. Fair still evening.
