23 June 1882 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Friday. 23rd June [1882]. Found it blowing hard when we got up & the river risen. Wrote, read & dozed with the heat. We dined at 4 as usual. I set to work to make the snowflake white curtains for the drawing room & sat working under the porch till past 10 o’cl when Henry came back from fishing. I got all 3 pair made & put up. Monty, Lords R & B went trout fishing but got nothing & took a walk up the hill & only returned at 10.30 when we had supper. Henry & I played cribbage before supper in the porch.
