14 July 1882 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Friday. 14th July [1882]. We saw no more of the Kennetts so conclude that they got off. Henry wrote. I painted & put in a sketch of Lord Rowton into the picture– Then I made biscuits & was at them when the dinner bell rang. After dinner Henry & I drove off to Overaas on the lake taking John with us. We got a boat there & rowed round to Hunde where Henry landed & fished from the bank & I fished from the boat. I caught 8 trout & lost many more. Henry only got one not being able to fish well from the bank but I had excellent sport & got one fish of 2½ lb. We got home after 11 & found Monty had killed a 30 lb. salmon & a 18 lb. Ld Rowton had got nothing– We had supper & bed.
