25 July 1882 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Tuesday. 25th [July 1882]. Got up early & went out fishing before breakfast and caught a 3 lb. trout & lost another. After breakfast I packed & collected my goods & chattels for tomorrow’s start. Went down to fish Syltebo’s Rest & rose a small trout. Fished the bank & saw nothing. Dined at 4. It rained hard & we went out late– Henry & I played cribbage before I went out. I fished the 2 Gredhus pools. Lost 2 trout in the 1st pool. Henry sat on the bank while I fished. I got no rise in L. Gredhus but got a 4 lb. trout under the Bank. All the gentlemen were standing by & directed me. I touched another lower down & 2 more while I trected as John calls it & came in late for supper. It rained hard at intervals all the evening.
