4 August 1882 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 4th August [1882]. Headachy all day. Squire Burr came to call. Mrs Austin (Temmy) came & sat & with me all the morning. I left her for an hour & went to Chesham Place to see Lady Tavistock whom I found at home. I sat with her half an hour & then returned home to Temmy & lunch. Henry lunched out. After lunch Temmy & I walked out together to shop 7 we parted in Regent St abt 5 & went to our respective homes. Arthur came to tea also Mrs Bagot & Mama & Nelly Alderson. Arthur got for Henry a very small silver teapot as a birthday present for me– It is small eno’ to carry in my travelling bag. We went to dine with Mr & Mrs Clark at 44 Berkeley Sqr. Miss Thornbill & B. Clark were the only people besides ourselves. Home early walked home.
