13 August 1882 — Lucerne | |
Sunday. 13th August [1882]. We left Lucerne by steamer at 9 & went up the lake to Fluelen where we got at 11.40. We found a carriage waiting for us & drove to Amsteg where we stopped to luncheon & rest the horses. Henry & Alice sat in front of the carriage & I sat inside. It was very hot & dusty but very fine. We drove on to Hospenthal where we spent the night & found only 2 rooms to be had so I slept in the same room as Alice. We had some tea & went early to bed. | |
