23 September 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 23rd September [1882]. We were all rather late this morng & breakfasted at 9.30 & the morning passed away with talking &c. After lunch they all went out except myself. I remained in & wrote my Italian exercises &c &c. Dined at 7 & Henry, Alice & Lady Gregory went out in the gondola– Sir Wm, Mrs Burr & I sat at home & talked over Spain & the Spaniards– | |
