30 September 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 30th September [1882]. Arthur went off before we were up in the morning. Cortelazzo left in the afternoon for Vicenza. I gave Mildred a German lesson in the morng. After lunch Ld & Lady Oranmore, Miss Guthrie & Mr Guthrie came to see the house & then went with Sir Wm G, Henry & Mildred to the glass blowing at Murano. I took out Mrs Burr & Lady Gregory in the stabilimento gondola for a row. We called first on Mrs Palk who was at home. She lodges at the Palazzo Eriza. The rooms are fine but denuded of all its old things it looks desolate. We went on to the station outside the town round home by the Misericordia home.
