1 October 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 1st October [1882]. Got telegram from Arthur that he had arrived safely at Milan yesterday at 4 o’cl & it was followed by a letter confirming it. Alice & Mildred went to the English service, no one else. After lunch Henry took them all to Armenian Convent. I remained at home. Mme Villari called—looking very handsome & was very agreeable. Abt 6 Olga Mocenigo came in. She had been here several days but laid up with a bad cold. All went out in eveng but Mrs Burr & self.
