3 October 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 3rd October [1882]. Got a note from Mrs Burr saying she had got safe to Milan at 5 P.M.—& had had to walk across 2 bridges & there had been rather a scrimmage. Gave Mildred a German lesson. Henry sat to me for an hour for his medallion. Afternoon Henry took out the Gregorys. Alice & Mildred stayed at home. I wrote &c. Mr Malcolm called—also Mr Brown– In the eveng it rained & there was no going out. Olga Mocenigo dined with us– Ld & Ly Alwyn Compton came to tea in eveng also Mr Oscar Browning who has travelled here 950 miles on his tricycle. He came over the Brenner & only twice took the train for a couple of hours the whole way out. | |
