17 October 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 17th [October 1882]. I got up for luncheon– Henry took the girls to Murano. I remained at home. We all went to the party given by Css Marcello on the eve of her daughter’s wedding. Theresa was dressed in pink silk & looked very pretty. She had on a necklace of 6 rows of pearls wh her fiancé had given her that day– There were a good many people there & most of them had come in from the country on purpose for the marriage. We were all asked to sign our names in a book of the bride’s that she might have the signatures of her friends. The wedding presents were all spread out in one room– We got home abt 11.30.
