31 October 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 31st [October 1882]. Morelli came up & criticised my medallion & I worked all the morning to alter it. Henry & he went out. After lunch Henry, Morelli, Alice & I went to Murano to see how the Vetreria was going on & to show it to Morelli. After going all over it with Sr Rolandi we walked to the church to look at the pictures. It being the Eve of All Saints we found the church full of people confessing & the church was open. Then we got into our gondola to come home. In passing S. Michele we stopped & went in to see once more the lovely carvings & marbles in it & then came on home. Mildred had Mlle Mocenigo to spend the afternoon with her & we all had tea in the studio. I read to the girls till dinner time. Tired & early to bed. | |
