1 November 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 1st November [1882]. Henry sat to me a while & I worked at modelling. Heard Mildred read German. After lunch being a lovely day we rowed to the Lido & walked there on the sands. It was lovely & there were distant boats with coloured sails sailing over the calm blue waters. Morelli & the girls went with us. Being All Saints Day it was a great fête. We had tea in the drawing room & Mr & Mrs Bracken called– After dinner Mildred played Beethoven– Cribbage. | |
