3 November 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 3rd November [1882]. Mr Burton was kind eno’ to come to my studio & point out the faults in my modelling, so I got Henry to sit to me a while I rectified them. I also made cigarettes. Morelli took the girls to the Academy & they did not return till lunch at 1.30. Afterwards Henry, Mr Burton, Morelli & I went to Marcardos & spent a long time going over his old rubbish & looking at his pictures. We then left M. & B. at Guggenheims. I went to call on Mme Hurtado she was in & I met there Css Mocenigo of St Stae. I asked Mme Hurtado to correct addresses in Murrays guide book wh we did together, fetched Henry at the Stab: & then home– T down stairs & then Mildred & I read German till dinner. Olga Mocenigo dined with us & we gave her maigre being Friday. Mildred played in the evening.
