15 November 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 15th [November 1882]. I worked at modelling & found that I had got to that pitch when I could not improve what I was doing so that I resolved to send for Sr Felici & get him to take it away & have it cast. He was not at home at first but after luncheon he came & very kindly set to work to smooth the background for me & then promised to send tomorrow for the thing & to cast it at his house. Maffei went off by the early train this morning. It being a fine evening Henry decided to take Mildred & Alice tomorrow to spend the day at Padua if it continues fine. | |
