16 November 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 16th November [1882]. The day being fine Henry & the girls went off to Padua by 9 o’cl train. I did not get up till 9. Sr Felici came & fetched away my medallion. Olga Mocenigo came to lunch with me but had to go away directly after & I sat & worked &c till 4 when the fine sunshine disappeared & it began to rain. Css Hoyas called & sat talking a long time. Then came Mme Pilat & paid a long visit– Henry & the girls did not return home till after 8 hungry & tired & ready for dinner. We went to bed early. Henry had shivering fit & indigestion. | |
