19 November 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 19th [November 1882]. I did not go to church but stayed at home & read. Alice & Mildred went together & thence on to the Academy & returned to lunch at 1.30. Henry & Alice went out after lunch walking and Mildred & I remained at home talking to Mr Malcolm who paid us a long visit. Count Canevaro came to call at 5 & I sang Spanish songs to him as I had once promised to do so. He leaves tonight for Rome to take his seat as he is elected deputy. After dinner I was playing the harmonium when Olga Mocenigo came in & sat with us for an hour– Weather cold & stormy looking.
