20 November 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 20th November [1882]. Fine day. Painted fan. At 12 went with Mildred to Mr Malcolm & he showed her his house. We came home for lunch. After lunch visit from Ct Mocenigo of St Stae. At 2.30 I went to Murano with Henry. We went to see how the St Clara establishment is getting on– The work is progressing & this day fortnight the furnaces are to be at work. We got home at 4. It was a cold day. Played duetts with Mildred on piano & harmonium– T—& then went up to write—sat & talked in the studio with Henry. Mr & Mrs Bracken, Mr Malcolm & Ct Gino Marcello dined with us. In eveng Mme Pilat & Ct Hoyas came. Mme Pilat sang & she played to my harmonium–
