16 December 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 16th December [1882]. Drew all the morning the Longhi’s for my fan. Directly after lunch we went off in gondola to Murano to the new glass works to see how they were getting on. The common glass manufactory is in full swing but the “roteria” will not be ready till 1st Jan. We came back & Henry went in to the Stab. I waited in the gondola & knitted while he was there & then we came home. Tea– Ct & Css Hoyas came to take leave as they return to Turin their home, on Tuesday. I practised harmonium till dinner. Dined in library & sat in studio in eveng. Looked thro’ some vols of Art pour Fans for my fan design & played cribbage.
