23 December 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 23rd December [1882]. Painted fan border. After lunch went out in gondola to Piazza—made a few small purchases. Met Css Marcello & she came with us in the gondola to call on Css Brandolin she being out we went to Css Canevaro who was at home. Met there Prince Czetwertynsky the Polish Count who is such a friend of Pss Metternich a good looking young man– I then went to Mrs Bronson’s & Miss B. came down to the gondola to speak to me– Her mother not being well eno’ to receive. I asked to be allowed to go to the dress rehearsal on Tuesday afternoon. Then home to tea. Practised harmonium. After dinner I left Henry reading & went to the Canevaros to spend the eveng & met Brandolins, Marcello’s & &c. Came home at 11 o’cl. | |
