5 January 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 5th January [1883]. Woke rather tired & did not get up till after breakfast. I tried to work on the wax model of Henrys head for founding it in bronze but I was not up to it & had to lie down. I found an old journal of when I was a girl & amused myself reading it over—it seemed as tho’ I was reading about some one I had known—not abt myself. Then I arranged some old letters & of course read some of them so all day I was living some 20 years back. I went with Henry to Murano to see the Progress of the glass works– Came home, had tea in studio & rested & read. Dined 7.30 & then spent the evening helping Henry to arrange his old letters & bed early. | |
