9 January 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 9th January [1883]. Mme Brandolin came again & we read the Coming of Arthur & the Morte d’Arturo & enjoyed it very much. Worked at the wax model all the rest of the day & Henry went out alone. After T. M. Texeira called with his daughter & chatted away rather amusingly giving himself out as a great musician & telling me how he had played quartetts with Frontali at sight a night or two ago. Also heard he was going to instruct Monsigr Bernardi how to manage state charities. Css Brandolin asked us to go to tea with her this evening but Henry wanted me to help him to tie up & arrange his Spanish Correspondence. I also made him some cigarettes.
