13 January 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 13th January [1883]. Worked hard & finished painting one of the Longhi pictures on the—& did not go out & so painted on till 4. Henry went out in spite of the rain. At 5 had visits from Marchesa Bentivoglio & her daughter also from old Pss Hohenlohe & her daughter & Mme Pilat. When they were gone practised organ & harmonium till dinner. Read, worked & cribbage after dinner. | |
