22 January 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 22nd January [1883]. Painted fan– After lunch out with Henry to the square where the band was playing. Walked there on the Riva Schiavoni– On returning home we found Cortelazzo arrived to stay with us– After dinner we went to the Valmaranas where Henry played cards & I remained talking. There were a great many people there– Some arrived late having dined at Don Carlos’ next door. We did not get home till after 12– | |
