4 February 1883 — Paris | |
Sunday. 4th February [1883]. Breakfasted at 8 & went by 9.40 train to Calais. Had a pretty good crossing. Met Sir G. Dallas & he got us a carriage at Dover—the inspector was very civil & got me some tea as I was not feeling well. There had been very bad crossings all this week– Yesterday they had taken 5 hours to get across. We got to town at 7.30 & went to Savile Row. Dinner & bed. | |
