5 February 1883 — 3 Savile Row | |
Monday. 5th [February 1883]. In order to cure my cold stayed in bed till 1 o’cl. Mama came & sat with me. Blanche came for a little while. I got up to lunch. Mama went away before lunch. Mr Burton came while we were at lunch. Fred Layard & Amy called & Sir Wm Gregory came & he & Mr Burton carried Henry off to the Nat. Gallery. As Mama knew I expected Maria to come she returned again in the afternoon—but did not find her here & Maria did not come till 4. Charlie Eliot called. Henry returned to tea. Mr Rate came to see us. Had tea & Maria went away home. Connie came. Mr Charles Newton called– Henry & I went to dine with Blanche & Edward who were quite alone & we came home early. | |
