27 April 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 27th April [1883]. Busy morning unpacking & arranging & after lunch went out in gondola to the Stabilimento Venezia & Murano. Passed Mrs Eden in her gondola & she promised to come to tea; both she & Idita Hurtado came to tea and we had a long talk abt servants & gondoliers & Idita promised to find us two men for later. Having got Mr Malcolm’s cook we had Mr Malcolm to dine with us—an arrangement he very kindly proposed. | |
