14 May 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 14th May [1883]. Idita & Miss Bronson came & the guitar master and we had our first lesson for 1½ hour. In the afternoon Henry went out to Murano with Mr Symonds. I stayed at home. Lady Marian Alford came to tea with Ladies Mabel & Margaret Compton & the companion a Miss Gay. We dined with the Bronsons to meet Mr & Mrs Howells– Mr Howells took me to dinner & Genl. de Horsey sat on my left. Pss Adini Windischgrätz & a Miss Chapman who lives with Mrs Bronson & young Mr Curtis. We stayed there till abt 10 when we went to Css Valmarana’s. There Henry had his game of whist & we came home abt 12. | |
