29 May 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 29th May [1883]. Our guitar lesson which took us till 12 o’clock. Unpleasant scirocco weather. Went out at 3 called on Mme Hurtado & found Lady Sinclair with her. Mme H & I tried over an English duett together then I went to fetch Henry at the Stabto & went leaving cards. As Henry had a face ache we came in soon after 4. Idita, Dr Facci & Mr Grenfell called & after T we had some music the Dr sang magnificently. Henry went out at 5.30 to see old Rawdon Brown. Mrs Ames came with her son to take leave as they go tomorrow. In the evening we went to Brandolins. Henry played écarté, Ninina & I played cribbage. Css Valmarana came there too. Home at 11. | |
