30 May 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 30th [May 1883]. Still scirocco. Idita came & sat to me for an hour for her bust. The Alwyne Comptons came to say good bye as they leave on Friday. It rained a little off & on all day. Went out in gondola for an hour in afternoon– The Sinclairs called—also the Pss of Montenegro, her sister & daughter. Practised guitar. Dinner at 7. Went to the Edens at 9. Met Ct & Css [illegible word] (she née [illegible word]). Pss Adini Windischgrätz & a handsome Mrs Callender whose husband is mad. Home at 10.30. | |
