5 June 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 5th June [1883]. Had our guitar lesson. Read– Very tired & did not go out. Henry went to the Correr Museum to resume his reading of letters. Mme Cairoli, M. Cairoli & her sister came to call– Henry returned before they left. They gave us bad accounts of Alessandro Castellani whom they say is dying of heart complaint. Mrs Eden came & stayed to tea. Mme Hurtado & Idita called later. M. & Mme Cairoli, Mlle & Lord & Lady Bagot dined with us. We dined in the hall. A thunderstorm in the evening prevented our going out. | |
