7 June 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 7th [June 1883]. As Idita did not come to sit with me as I expected, I spent the morning in writing letters. Did not go out in the afternoon– Read & worked. Henry went to the Correr. Mr Sneyd a young cousin of ours called & sat some time talking. Mrs Curtis called. Also Mme Cairoli, her sister & Ly Molmenti, Mme Bassecourt, Css Brandolin & Mrs Eden. The latter stayed till nearly dinner time. After dinner we went out. Walked in the Piazza hoping to meet the Cairolis but did not find them. Then at 9.30 we went to the Edens. We found the D. & Dss of Noci there. Came home at 10.30.
