20 June 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 20th [June 1883]. Practised guitar at 7. After breakfast Idita came & sat to me. Lady Bagot & the two girls came while I was at work. After lunch Henry took out the De Bülows to Guggenheim & the Stabto & then sent back the gondola for me & I joined them there after having worked a bit at the Catalogue. They dropped me at the Edens & I found Lady Bagot there & had tea with them & then joined Henry & the De Bs on the Piazza & we came home to tea. After dinner we went out on the canal, took a turn or two in the Piazza & then Henry & I went in to Mrs Bronson’s & the De B went home. We found a small party at Mrs Bronsons, Pss Metternich, Dss della Grazia & 2 girls, Hurtados &c & a Mr Brabazon who played the piano very well. We came home at 11.30. Mr Tindal came to borrow sheets for his friend Mr Steuart who is ill & we sent him chicken broth. | |
