17 July 1883 — Dresden
Tuesday. 17th July [1883]. I was tired & did not go out in the morng. Henry went to the gallery to look again at their Giorgone. I wrote letters. Henry returned & we lunched at 1. We met the Mallets again who leave tomorrow. We went out for a little walk in the town round by the Zwinger. Dined at 1.30. Took a charming drive on this side of the town; went to the Schloss Park & had a lovely drive thro’ gardens & an English like park with fine trees, green grass & all beautifully laid out. We returned & played cribbage & had tea.
