11 September 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 11th [September 1883]. Breakfast 9. Alice Rate did not get up till late. I sat with her. Henry took out Margie & Mr Rate. I wrote a few letters & talked to Alice up in the studio. After lunch Henry took Margie & Mr R. to Murano. Mr Malcolm fetched Alice & me at 4.30 & took us to his garden. Henry & Co met us there– We went over the wood stores—came home just in time for dinner. Mr Malcolm dined with us. Henry took out Margie & Mr Rate in the evening– Alice went to bed. I wrote a letter– | |
