13 September 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 13th September [1883]. Fernando came with boxes & plants in a boat & proceeded to place them all & fill them & Alice & I superintended wh took up all our morning but the improvement to the look of the house was considerable. Alice went out sightseeing in the afternoon & I stayed in to superintend moving flower boxes in the Belvidere which made more space to move about. We 2 did not go out in the eveng but went early to bed. | |
