27 October 1883 — Florence | |
Saturday. 27th October [1883]. I tied 4 cages together & carried the birds off with us to Venice. Got up at 5.30 & left by 7 train. We reached Venice at 4.30 & were met by Giovanni & went home & found the double windows in—the old stone lavella placed in the Belvidere & the house in perfect order. We dined at 7. Cribbage. | |
