4 November 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 4th November [1883]. I went to church in the morning & led the singing which went very well. I did not go out again. Had a visit from Capt. Kirk & later from Mr Kirchmayr the painter of children’s portraits. Henry was out & I showed K. all our pictures. His surprise was amusing. He began by asking me if our Cima was a water coloured copy! & owned he had no idea we had old pictures. Mme Pilat also called at 5. Mr Malcolm dined with us. | |
