27 November 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 27th November [1883]. I practised guitar as usual before breakfast & afterwards was busy all day at one thing or another. Emily R. came just before luncheon and stayed till afterwards. Henry went to meeting of the Vetreria wh was held at the Municipio. I arranged my studio for beginning to model– Olga Mocenigo came in order to sit to me. As soon as I began on the block of clay I had got young Malgarotto to put up for me I found he had done it so badly I had to tear it down & do it all over again & so I worked at building it up till dinner time. Olga stayed till after T. Mr Burton came in to tea also Mr Malcolm & Sr Castellani & his wife came to dine with us & Orsi sang & so did I in the evening & I played also the harmonium.
