11 December 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 11th December [1883]. Olga came & sat to me for an hour. I also went on working till lunch. Went out with Henry [in] afternoon & walked in the Piazza. The hen Calfa arrived from Florence & I put it into the cage with the cock bird whose mate died a short time ago. My weekly flowers also arrived & I put them up. Practised guitar. Emily R. came to tea and we cut out towels & I made them in the machine & she went away just before dinner. In evening work—reading & cribbage. | |
