12 December 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 12th [December 1883]. Olga did not come to sit but still I modelled & worked at her bust. Emily R. came & Miss St Clair came first & sat some time chatting. Emily stayed to lunch & went out with us afterwards. Mr & Mrs Inglis Palgrave came with letters of introduction from Lady Eastlake. Took a walk in Piazza & there left Emily. I went to see Ersilia & found her at home. Went to see Lady Sinclair & sat some time with her. Home to tea—practised guitar. In the eveng we went to Mr & Mrs Edens. Met there, Miss Ker, Mme Pilat, Signor Frontali & Pss Dolgorouky. Mme de Pilat accompanied Signor Frontali who played the violin very delightfully & we spent a very pleasant evening. Home at 11.
