23 December 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 23rd [December 1883]. Went to church & Miss Bronson been laid up with cold I had to play the harmonium & lead the singing, which was pretty hard work. After lunch Henry & I took a walk on Riva & then went to see Mrs Bronson whom we found at home. Henry went home & left me at the Pss of Montenegro’s whose “day” it was. I met several people there—the room was very hot & I was glad to get home. Miss Gordon came to tell me she was returning soon to England & that her father was coming to fetch her. Dined alone.
