26 December 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 26th December [1883]. I wrote several letters—put things tidy—Emily Reitzenstein called. After lunch Henry & I went to the garden to see Mr Eden & enquire after Carry who still has fever. Home to tea & had a visit from M. & Mme Dell’Aglio at tea time. Went to dine with the Canevaros & met there besides the Baroness Fiedler their cousin, Srs Lazari & Simcola– The gentlemen played whist & we ladies spent the evening chatting, working & a little music but I was rather tired after yesterday work.
